Winn Elementary School Planting

The planting was a success!

Fifteen trees were planted around the playground area to form a narrow grove.

The trees weighed from between 80 and perhaps 350 pounds and teams/families did a great job of getting the trees into the holes at the proper depth.

Many thanks to Shepherd Public Schools’ Transporation & Maintenance Department for unloading and placing the larger trees and helping with choosing sites for the trees.

This planting event was generously funded by the URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY PROGRAM of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
